Diana's contemporary approach to centuries-old symbolism and decorative art, showcases stories of roots and traditional background as well as people's adaptation to new social circumstances.
"The decorative elements in my subjects' stories are visual echoes of the varied life experiences that shape us, from the rich tapestry of cultures we encounter, to the technological landscapes that define our modern existence."

Education
Kensington & Chelsea College
Fine Art Foundation Level 4
University of Westminster
Bachelor's Degree in Mixed Media Faine Art
My decision to study Mixed Media Fine Artwas driven by a deep-seated fascination with multiple creative mediums and the unique potential they hold when combined.
It taught me the value of versatility, the beauty of integration, and the power of art to transcend conventional boundaries. I've learned to see art not just as a form of expression but as a form of exploration. I love experimenting and allowing myself to make decisions on the spot, based on my own feelings and experiences.
Professional Career
Within my professional journey as a Product Designer for global companies (9+ years), I honed my design skills but also deepened my appreciation for the aesthetics of functionality and the power of technology in our lives.
This experience has enriched my artistic vocabulary, allowing me to incorporate elements from the digital world into my art, creating a dialogue between the user interface of our daily devices, and the timeless canvas.
Cultural Journey
Departing Romania at the age of 19, I embarked on a transformative journey to London, a city that promised and delivered opportunities for growth, both professionally and creatively.
My career and life took a significant turn when I decided to relocate to Singapore, seeking new experiences and cultural inspirations. Living in Asia has given me the chance to explore diverse cultures, expand my knowledge, and continuously work on my art.

Tempus Art Cover
This project, commissioned by Pictorum Gallery for the magazine's 10th anniversary, was themed around the concept of time — a theme that resonated with my artistic ethos of fusing traditional motifs with contemporary visions.
The process began with an intricate deconstruction of watch components—wheels, hands, and bracelets. My objective was to dissect these components and reimagine them, infusing my style into their interpretation.
The subject's gaze directed upwards, symbolises a quest for innovation and curiosity; it represents also the forward-looking vision that drives my art. Her attire, particularly the hat adorned with a watch spiral, intertwined with other decorative elements, painted in gold, to confer the piece a mysterious, luxurious, and timeless aura.

The Subject
The subjects of my portraits assume traditional poses, reminiscent of classic portraiture, though they are constructed from modern designs and motifs. This technique bridges centuries of artistic tradition with the visual language of today, creating pieces that are both timeless and unmistakably modern.

Gold Paint
Gold shines with a luminosity that adds dimension and depth, transforming the artwork into a visual exploration of light and shadow, value, and transcendence.
In alchemy gold represents the spiritual transformation of the self or the world, suggesting a journey towards achieving an ultimate state of being.

Decorative motifs
My work features decorative patterns inspired by a multitude of cultures, reflecting the idea that individuals today are exposed to and influenced by a diverse array of cultural experiences. These patterns reflect the modern experience of cultural assimilation and personal identity construction, offering viewers a lens through which to view their own journeys in a globalized world.
